And So It Begins…

Recently I’ve been feeling restless and thinking about how I want to spend my time now this fourth chapter of my life. My best idea so far is to only do what brings me joy and lights up my life. Pretty good one, right?

Well, I love to quilt! I love everything about it! Picking out the fabrics, the colors, the putting together pieces to make designs, watching your pattern evolve as you progress and of course the finished project! I also like to write and often keep a journal of my thoughts, feelings, ideas, hopes and dreams. And I love being outside in Nature. I find it restores my energy and lifts my Spirit. So why not combine these things into one passion? So, I’ ve started an Instagram account for Country Girl Quilts where I can post pictures of quilts out of doors! I know I enjoy seeing all those colors and patterns outside in nature, and I hope to inspire others to get outside, take their quilts and enjoy this planet while were here.

My plan is to take quilts I’ve made, or quilts i’ve got permission to borrow and take them to outside to places to show off the quilts beauty. It may be Tn the neighborhood, on a beach trip or even a journey to the redwood forest. Many of the pictures will be of my quilts, so I can finally show them off…..I mean they are a lot of work! But also I will invite friends to show their beautiful quilts outside and give credit to the quilt maker and the quilter whenever possible.

Right now I’m using the hashtags #quiltsinthewild and #staywild because they are meaningful to me. Perhaps they will evolve over time to be more specific to the quilts and this blog.

Stay tuned as this idea evolves and grows…..

Next blog will be about the human side of quilting…

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
